tragedy – The dramatic representation of serious and important actions that culminate in catastrophe for the protagonist, hero, or chief actor in a play or film. Aristotle saw tragedy as the fall of a noble figure from a high position and happiness to defeat and misery as a result of harmartia, some misjudgment or frailty of character (fatal flaw, perhaps).
