Meaning and definition of multiple exposure :

 

The recording of two or more images on the same frame of film. This can be achieved in a number of ways. Some cameras have a multiple exposure control that lets you recock the shutter without advancing the film. On cameras without this facility you can recock the shutter after pressing in the rewind release, keeping the film taut by constant pressure on the rewind lever. Another technique is to expose the same film twice, taking care to align it so the frame positions match up for the second exposure.

 

For the term multiple exposure may also exist other definitions and meanings, the meaning and definition indicated above are indicative not be used for medical and legal or special purposes.
