Meaning of term network analysis :

 

Network (or critical path) analysis is a tool used by business to help with decision making. It is generally used where a product requires the completion of a series of tasks, many of which are interdependent (depend on each other). To help with finding the best combination of the tasks, the firm can construct a network. The network shows each of the tasks as a 'node' and the earliest start time and latest finishing time of each task are calculated. From the network the critical path (the optimum route with no delays) can be identified.
